So good I needed a bottle of red and several pieces of Dark Chocolate.......

To me, when I can't read a book without a good glass of wine and a piece of chocolate, than I know its good.

This book starts off where book 1 ended (you don't NEED to read 50 shades of jungle fever, but the book is really good, so you should) and focuses on the aftermath of Tristan and Keisha's break-up. I really enjoyed delving deeper into the characters themselves; when they were in a relationship it was mostly about new experiences and learning one another. In this book we learn about the individual characters, allowing Ms. Lewis' writing to shine and giving readers is a roller coaster ride of emotions.

The good:
Tristan is A-ma-ZING! OMG. He is an alpha personality with a
big heart full of love and passion, Keisha is one lucky girl.

Keisha, is still genuine, smart and sassy with just enough refinement. Perfect.

Favorite scene:
The ending on the private jet. I've read it over and over; its just so sexy!

Favorite character:
The fairies- I agreed with all of their antics and enjoyed reading them.

The bad:
I want more. Always more.

Being Mrs. Blakemore by Olivia Gaines

        I found this book while wandering aimlessly through Amazon’s myriad of titles. I like the Cover candy and thought I would give it a go. I was immediately enthralled by the heroine, Odessa Trodat. She is one smart woman! I am OVER reading naïve females that need the hero to save them, I want more characters like Odessa that are smart, athletic, and have an interesting career that does not involve bling!

         On a cruise by herself, Why she is traveling alone is never mentioned, that has ported in Puerto Vallarta. Our Shero is nearly kidnapped until Saxton Blakemore, our hero steps up and offers a drowning woman a branch to tow herself in.
         Can I just say thank you? Smart and streetwise my girl takes the branch and the novella gets good!

The Good:

The story starts off quickly and is easy to follow. The ending is good as well.

Fav character:

Odessa is an amazing Shero who could carry a series all on her own. She is book and street smart with a great sense of humor and positive attitude.

The bad:

Why is this smart sexy woman on a cruise on her own is never explained, because this is just a novella the author didn’t make time to do this. Everything else was explained in background with efficiency.

Least fav character:

Odessa’s father. I wish that the Mrs. Gaines would have given us another reason for Odessa’s familiarity with weapons. To all you authors out there, women serve in the military to! She could served a tour for an education, her mother may have been the soldier in the family. Or she hunted (I have met several women of color who love to hunt game). I just wish that this fail-safe character type would have been left at the computer and another plausible explanation was created

I’m jus sayin:

This book is good and I will read its sequel!

       

Shifters moon

 by Riva Blackstone

This is a sweet read that I finished in a day. It centered around the small town of Barrelgrove where Jake arrives in town. He meets the enigmatic Lia, a carmel skinned beauty full of hairy secrets. Soon his life and his heart are entangled in a web of shifters, werewolves and dangerous motorcycle thugs. How far will Jake go to keep Lia’s heart and his head?

The good:

This is a really good story that captured me from the beginning. There was a bit of mystery for me as the reader and I really enjoyed that. I also loved Irman and Lorelai.

The bad:

Not much. The read is short, but so sweet. There were some typos, but nothing worth getting my hair sweated out for.

I’m jus sayin:

I believe this is a new author. I look forward to hearing more from her.

Say my name!

I found this book via twitter and really like the premise: MAYNE spent her adult life closed off emotionally from the world around her. She learned very early on that those who get close to her end up dead. She knows she is cursed, but what she doesn’t know is why.

From the very beginning I loved Mayne St. Le Clair she and I are a lot alike, we say how we feel and we love a good movie. I was literally tweeting lines from the book as I read the novel and laughed out loud. Then, ECTAIN “ERIC” EDECK enters the story. Can Mayne get past the hurt and fall in love or has her heart been broken too many times?


Warning: This book references religion, heaven, hell, angels, and the devil.
The good:

Their are a lot of really good lines in this book:

"..his voice was soft and rich. It rolled over me like butter on a hot biscuit." loc.283

"I'm aware of your habit of speaking to yourself through talking to the dog" loc 405 Yes, I resemble this comment. I do talk to the dog as a means of talking to myself. Cause only crazy people talk to themselves and answer back!

Jim, I love when writers make pets characters in the book.

I've never read of a memory keeper before, so I thought this was very unique.

I won't get into it, but I found the religious philosophies of this book to be interesting. The fall of the angel of light, nephillim, Gabriel, Michael, the grim reaper all make an interesting appearance in this novel. My kudos to the author for having the gumption to include all of these characters in a new way.

The bad:

I did not actually like Mayne and couldn't find a reason for Eric or many of the characters to like her either. She talked poorly to people and she was insensitive to her friends up until the very end. She had reasons yes, but you choose to be a b!tch, no circumstances can take that fact away.

At one point Mayne is arguing scripture with an angel. AN ANGEL. As in a creature created for the sole purpose of serving God. I think that the author was trying to prove that the angels know the scripture, but can never know what it is to feel what it means because they are designed to just follow commands. But it came across as a pissing contest of biblical knowledge.

Their were some continuity and grammatical problems that were minor distractions from the storyline.

I'm jus saying:

This is a satisfactory read that will make you laugh and maybe cry. The character deals with deep emotions of loss and regret that you may find enjoyable.

Book stalking.....

Model Tiffany Bell has an awesome booty

So I've been stalking this book for two years. The cover is magnetizing; the look in the models eyes, the hot muscle man she's with, and her perfect ass make for amazing cover candy. Alas, I'm frugal and have a bathroom renovation to pay for and this book is expensive at $8.99 but finally I broke down and just spent the money.

The good:
Great writing, I really became engrossed in the book right away. The best friend and wanting Laney's boss to get her comeuppance made me dive in. I read it in one day. I wanted. No. Needed to know how the story ended. Really supremely written love scenes. Nicholas is more than a lil sexy in so many of the scenes; though he is very much an alpha male. I can also say that it reminded me of my last vaca, so I really had a great picture of the setting in my mind.

The bad:                                                                                                                                                                Nick was an a-hole. Not the kind that I love, but the kind I stay away from. At one point he tells Laney that if she doesn't agree to have sex with him he won't stop himself. Um, you cant threaten to rape me that's not hot. 

Laney was a doormat the entire book. I really wish that she would have given her boss what she deserved. Alas she was the sweet perfect character romance writers pump out every other book. Which brings me to my next point, why did rich playboy Nicholas fall for the sweet Laney anyway? I have no idea. 

I'm jus sayin:
I don't know that I can say that the book was the worth the price, depends on you as a person. I liked the story, will re-read, and will buy her next novel, but I can't say it stood out in the landscape of romance or multicultural new adult.
